INVITATION: 3 x lunch talks at Stockholm Furniture Fair

Welcome to 3 x lunch talks and find out more about the vibrant design scene in Malmö and southern Sweden – international design festival, innovative production possibilities and natural fiber as a local raw material.

The talks are part of the Swedish Design Movement program during Stockholm Furniture Fair and take place in stand C04:27.

Southern Sweden Design Days presents highlights from the program of the third edition of Malmö's new international design festival which takes place on 25–28 May 2023.

Southern Sweden Design Days
Southern Sweden Design Days is an annual design festival in Malmö that highlights and builds knowledge about design – focusing on sustainability, collaboration, development and innovation. For four days, a platform is created showcasing a full range of design disciplines through exhibitions, seminars, workshops and networking events. Arranged by Form/Design Center.

SPOK
SPOK is a production platform that aims to gather and spread knowledge about local manufacturing possibilities ranging from handicrafts to industries. SPOK aims to promote the development of local production in Sweden and in the long term also more–local consumption. SPOK is run with Form/Design Center as principal.

Fiber Land
Fiber Land is an initiative run by the County Administrative Board (Länsstyrelsen) of Skåne together with STPLN in Malmö and Jenny Nordberg Design Studio. The aim is to contribute to the three fibers hemp, flax and wool being seen as commercial alternatives to resource–demanding fibers such as cotton and synthetic materials. This is accomplished by creating new business connections between Skåne–based primary producers of the three fibers and different types of end customers.

Swedish Design Movement
Swedish Design Movement brings together actors in design, fashion and architecture who are spearheading the transition to sustainability. They are driven by a genuine commitment to drive change through good design. Their belief is that together we can achieve the UN 2030 Agenda goals for Sustainable Development. The stand at Stockholm Furniture Fair C04:27 is an open space for discussion about a sustainable future through design and innovation Take a seat, get involved in our program and join the movement. The stand is designed and produced by Note Design Studio.

Om Form/Design Center

Form/Design Center is the leading meeting place for architecture, design and crafts in southern Sweden. In a unique cultural-historical environment in central Malmö, you can experience exhibitions, workshops and talks, or visit the shop and the magazine café. Form/Design Center is a platform for the industry and runs various sustainability projects. Form/Design Center is designated by the Swedish government as a national node for a designed living environment and appointed official partner in the New European Bauhaus. Form/Design Center started in 1964 as part of the non-profit association Svensk Form and is supported by funding from the Ministry of Culture, the City of Malmö, Region Skåne and the Swedish Arts Council.
